Business Electrification Forum at Everything Electric Sydney 2026
On 18 September 2026, I joined Julie Perrissel from Ivygo and Rob Dietz of Roev to run the first Business Electrification Forum at Everything Electric Sydney, at Sydney Olympic Park. The forum was designed to help businesses take the next step toward electrifying their operations. We ran three sessions on business electrification and energy savings, EV charging for businesses, and Fleet Electrification and brought together government and industry to meet and work through how to take the next step to electrify.

I love running workshops that help people take the next step to electrify, first their home and now their business. I make sure my workshops are an efficient use of my attendees’ time, so everyone walks away having learnt something they can act on.
The key driver for this day was that everyone left feeling confident about their next step. For some, that meant knowing what to do next to electrify with solar, batteries or hot water heat pumps. For others, it was working out whether adding an EV charger is a good idea, and how to use it to attract customers. And for fleet managers, it was knowing where to start and which changes will give the best benefit.

To make that happen, we planned each session around the questions business owners need answered, and brought in panels of experts and representatives of NSW DCCEEW who could answer them directly.
What rebates and savings are available for business electrification?
Business Electrification panel
Our first session, Business Electrification and Energy Savings, took business owners through the latest government rebates and how they can use them to get the maximum savings. Installers talked through the common issues businesses run into and the practical steps that help ensure the best return. Very often it comes down to getting the sequencing of the installation right. We also covered how to finance these upgrades.

Is EV charging a good idea for my business?
EV charging panel - Julie Perrissel - Ivygo, Mark Ayers - Jet Charge, Felicity Stevens - Sustainable Hosting, Anna Martinis - NSW DCCEEW
In the second session, EV Charging for Businesses, I shared my research into EV driver behaviour. We then worked through how to find the right charging solution for your business, how to use EV charging as an amenity to attract customers, add an extra revenue stream and manage EV charging with your staff.

Where do I start with fleet electrification?
Fleet Electrification with Rob Dietz - Roev, Tom Dwyer - Jet Charge, Landon Kahn - SolSombra and Anna Martinis - NSW DCCEEW
Rob from ROEV ran our final session. He took us through the growing market for electric fleets and how fleet managers can make the transition as efficiently as possible.
What we heard from business owners
We had an incredible line-up of panellists, and the feedback from the audience was positive. People loved being able to put their questions to government, installers, product specialists and finance experts in the one room. The practical stories shared during the sessions really resonated.
It was also great to work with such a wide variety of business owners. Their needs are very different, and every one of them has to be taken into account when electrifying a business. One thing is certain: this is not straightforward work, and you need a great team around you to get the installation you want.

Frequently asked questions
Where should a business start with electrification?
Start with an energy assessment by a trusted expert, who can identify opportunities to reduce costs and help develop an electrification strategy tailored to your business.
What government support is available?
Check the NSW Government website regularly for the latest battery incentives and other support for businesses. Eligibility and incentives can change, so it’s worth understanding what’s available, and whether you qualify, before you invest.
Is EV charging right for my business?
Start with why you want charging, who will use it and when. That will help determine the right infrastructure and commercial model for your site.
Where do I start with fleet electrification?
Look at how your vehicles are used, where they’re parked, when they can charge and what support is available. Fleet electrification is about more than replacing one vehicle with another.
